Project Associate
Position Overview:
The Project Associate will support the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of project activities. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills to ensure timely delivery of outputs, maintain stakeholder relationships, and contribute to documentation, reporting, and field coordination efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the effective implementation and monitoring of project activities in alignment with defined milestones and timelines.
- Support coordination and collaboration with key stakeholders, including tannery owners, leather goods manufacturers, government agencies, and development partners.
- Maintain regular and proactive communication with partner organizations to ensure smooth project execution.
- Contribute to the development, operationalization, and maintenance of the leather traceability system across the value chain.
- Collect, verify, and analyze field-level data related to traceability practices, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Support the planning and facilitation of training programs, stakeholder workshops, and consultation meetings.
- Prepare and contribute to project reports, case studies, and communication materials in close coordination with the project team.
- Ensure systematic documentation, archiving, and management of project records and materials.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor project implementation and provide on-ground support to partner organizations.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Management when needed.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- At least a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Leather Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Experience in development projects, preferably in the leather sector, will be given preference.
- Familiarity with traceability systems, value chain interventions, or circular economy concepts will be an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bangla
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to travel to field locations as required
